RC Makati adjudged Most Outstanding Club-Overall in District 3830

Pres. Felix Amparo dutifully went to the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium of the RCBC Plaza in Makati in the afternoon of Saturday, the 5th of June, to represent the Rotary Club of Makati at the Recognition & Awards Program (REAP), District 3830’s annual year-end program of recognition, and left with more than an armful of awards, and a heart brimming with joyful pride. REAP, the program said, and reap he did, indeed, brining home a harvest of 20 awards!
The plum, the most coveted among all prizes—the award for the Most Outstanding Club-Overall--went to RC Makati. The equivalent of the Best Picture award in the Oscars, the Most Outstanding Club-Overall award is the summary of all the awards won by the club on said occasion and a concrete affirmation of the hard work and dedication of the RCM Rotarians in the past 10 months. The recognition program gave Pres. Felix a pretty good physical exercise, as he went up and down the stage 20 times to collect the awards from a beaming and equally proud Gov. Sid Garcia.
Departing from the usual brass or glass trophies and plaques, Gov. Sid and Ann Tesha chose to give decorative ceramic plates featuring paintings by the members of the Garcia family.

Aside from Gov. Sid, there was a handful of Rotarians who were there to cheer PP Felix on and to add to the bursts of applause that rose from the floor every time RC Makati’s name was called—PDG Tony Quila, PP Pepito Bengzon, PP Jonny Carlos, PP Ric Librea, PE Jun Rojas, PN Rene Limjoco and Treas. Dayal Nandwani. The leanness of the RC Makati delegation—only 9 of them—was a clear indication that no one had any inkling of the big day ahead of them. Gov. Sid and the Evaluation Committee had succeeded in keeping things under wraps hard enough to prevent leaks.
