Club starts 5 supplemental feeding modules for 150 children in Antipolo, Tanay

The Club’s program against malnutrition among children goes on without letup, thanks to the dogged determination of PP Freddie Borromeo who has made it his advocacy since his term in RY 2004-2005.
Last Thursday, 15th April, a party of 15 Rotarians, Anns and children headed by Pres. Felix Amparo and PP Freddie drove northeastward to kick off a set of five supplemental feeding program modules in Antipolo City and Tanay, Rizal. IN the group  were IPP Larry Boyer & Ann Tere, Jun-Jun Dayrit, Wilfred Gui, Tommy de Leon, Dir. Ferdie Ordoveza, Ann Menchit & two children, Baby Rtn. Richie Santiago & Ann Mitch, and Anns Jojo Borromeo and Lu Limjoco. Kabisig ng Kalahi president Vicky Wieneke was also present.
The new project sites where the feeding program was launched were Barangays San Isidro and Mambugan in Antipolo, and Barangays Plaza Aldea, Wawa, and Pinagkamaligan in Tanay. Each site covers 30 children. One of the modules is sponsored by Dir Ferdie Ordoveza.
The group went to Antipolo in the morning and took a break for lunch hosted by the Boyers at their Antipolo residence. The lunch was made more festive with the lechon, dinuguan at puto, and salad brought by the Borromeos, and the pork barbeque brought by the Santiagos. For good measure, PP Freddie & Jojo also brought sangria to complement all that food. Lunch over, they proceeded to Tanay for the launch of the rest of the modules.
RC Makati and its main partners, Kabisig ng Kalahi and Mead Johnson Nutrition, signed a memorandum of agreement with the partner organizations in each of the project sites, and the officers of the parents’ organizations took their oath, binding them to discharge their duties as co-implementors of the program. The funds for the 6-month feeding and the milk from corporate sponsor Mead Johnson were also turned over to them.
