Club partners with Chaine des Rotisseurs for Supplemental Feeding in San Pablo City

The club has joined hands with the Confrerie de la Chaine des Rotisseurs , for a module of our supplemental feeding program in San Pablo City, Laguna. The Chaine is an international gustatory society devoted to fine dining and the promotion of the pleasures of the table.

Joining PP Freddie Borromeo , chairman of our Supplemental Feeding Program Committee and of the Chaine's Manila chapter ( Bailliage de Manille ) were Pres. Pepito Bengzon , his mother Nellie Bengzon , son Pepi and daughters Michele and Mavelle , PP Roger Davis , John Aspinall, Drezz Laggui and children, and of course, Ann Jojo Borromeo . Also present were Vicky Wieneke , president of Kabisig ng Kalahi, and members of the Chaine.

The project was launched in a simple ceremony on Saturday, 20 th October at the covered court of the San Antonio II Elementary School, where Pres. Pepito spoke on RC Makati and its various programs, with emphasis on the nutrition program and PP Freddie spoke about both Club and the Chaine. PP Freddie, in his capacity as Bailli de Manille, had turned over to Pres. Pepito during our 25 September meeting a cheque for P60,000 to coverexpenses for one module. Each feeding module provides one hot, nutritious meal and a glass of milk a day, for 6 months, to 30 malnourished children. The meals are prepared by the children's parents who band together in an association and trained in various tasks—including budgeting, planning meals, marketing, cooking—to ensure the success of the program. The club's feeding program is being implemented in partnership with Kabisig ng Kalahi, the Department of Social Welfare & Development, the concerned local government, and Mead Johnson, which supplies the milk.

After the launch, they proceeded to Villa Escudero in the next town, Tiaong, Quezon, for a splendid lunch especially prepared by host Ado Escudero for the Rotarians and Chaine members.
